Art Journal – Close Encounters

close-encounters

I really liked this image, torn from a catalogue, which featured a line of women beautifully attired in clothing specific to their region.  I applied it to a background made from Distress ink rubbed through a stencil onto the book page with a blending tool, followed by rubber stamping with black ink through the same stencil.  I collaged the catalogue image, a title (cut from a magazine), and washi tape.  The shadows (around the page and images) were made with a black Faber Castell pastel blended with my finger.  Click on the picture to enlarge it on your screen.
