The background for this page was made with acrylic paint and large bubble wrap. On top of that, I laid down some drywall mesh and applied white paint through it with a sponge and then removed the drywall tape leaving a faint check pattern behind. The image and text were cut from magazines. I darkened around the edges of the image and text with a pastel crayon, and smudged it. I drew a black line around the edge of the page with a Sharpie, and filled it in leaving little stripes exposed. I applied orange paint through punchinella (or “sequin waste”) to the top right and bottom left corners. The tape measure is a strip of washi tape. I can’t remember where I got the ticket stubs, but I liked the way they looked here — and also the way they helped hold the book together.
I’ve been enjoying all your journal posts – really lovely!Kristin
