When something grabs my eye, I set it aside for art journaling.
This page background was made using a stencil and Dylusions ink spray. The image and words were all torn (or cut) from magazines. After collaging them together, I outlined the magazine elements with a gray pen, and then a white pen, and added a little rubber stamping, doodling, and journaling.
I like the way the black-and-white contrast with the very busy pink background. It’s simple, but it somehow works.
Most of my pages begin as backgrounds and then sit for awhile (days, weeks, or even months!) before they are finished into completed pages. It’s nice knowing that I can start a page whenever I want and not feel obligated to finish it in the same sitting.
