I didn’t like this page at first, but it’s grown on me!
The background was painted white with acrylic paint applied with a baby wipe. Next, I applied Distress inks through hexagonal and numbered stencils with a blending tool. I doodled inside some of the shapes, and journaled around others. Lastly, I scribbled a border around the edge of the page with a black pen. To add a bit more dimension, I shaded around the number shapes using a light tan coloured Pitt marker with a brush tip.
Not every page is a favourite — and that’s ok. Art journaling is about experimenting, playing, and creating something that seems “right” at the moment. If I like it afterwards, that’s great! But even if I don’t, I let it be so. By giving myself permission to NOT like a particular page, I often find that I appreciate it more in the end.
